FAIRMOUNT, N.D. — The North Dakota State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a fire and apparent explosion in an east Richland County garage late Sunday night, Aug 9.
About 11:45 p.m. Sunday, local fire departments responded to a report of a fire and possible explosion at 203 Fourth St. S. in Fairmount, about 12 miles south of Wahpeton, according to a news release from the Richland County Sheriff's Office.
When fire crews arrived, they found a garage fully engulfed in flames and debris nearby that would be consistent with an explosion, the sheriff's office said.
The cause of the fire was not immediately clear. Authorities did not report any injuries in the incident.
