MINOT, N.D. — Police have released the name of a woman killed in a shooting in northwest Minot.

The victim was 29-year-old Arnalyn Repalam and the alleged shooter was her boyfriend, 41-year-old Eric Clayton Venn, according to police. Both lived in Minot.

Venn is being held in the Ward County Jail on charges of murder, tampering with physical evidence and fleeing in a motor vehicle. Court records did not list an attorney for him.

At about 4:50 p.m. Sunday, July 11, Minot police received a report that a gunshot victim was at Trinity Hospital. When officers arrived, they learned that Repalam had died from her injuries.

An investigation led to Venn, who fled in a vehicle when officers tried to arrest him, police said. After a pursuit, they eventually caught him northeast of Minot, according to police.
