MINOT, N.D. — Authorities are searching for a man with ties to a woman whose body was found in an early June car fire in Minot.

Police believe Kamauri Kennedy, 32, has direct knowledge of the death of 32-year-old Domonique Kelley, of Minot, and describe him as a "person of interest" in the case.

Crews found Kelley's body June 3 after extinguishing the flames engulfing a vehicle. Law enforcement is investigating the death as a homicide.

The North Dakota Crime Lab and the State Forensic Examiner's Office identified Kelley's remains through DNA analysis, Minot police said last week in a news release.

After crews discovered Kelley's body, a home associated with Kennedy was burned, according to Minot police, who believe Kennedy then stole a gray 2013 Chrysler 300 which was later located with fire damage in Minneapolis.

Investigators continue to search for a stolen black 2017 Yukon Denali in connection to the case.

The Yukon Denali has North Dakota license plate 493 CCV, with black rims, blacked-out GMC decals and purple sticker decals, police said.

Police describe Kennedy as a 6-foot-1-inch Black male weighing about 220 pounds. He reportedly uses multiple aliases.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Kennedy is asked to call the Minot Police Department at 701-852-0111 or Crime Stoppers at 701-852-7463. Callers can remain anonymous.
