ND landowners affected by energy industry can attend expo
STANLEY, N.D. -- Landowners affected by energy development can connect with industry experts and state regulators at an event next week in Stanley.
The Northwest Landowners Association is hosting an information expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Mountrail County South Complex.
Chairman Troy Coons said the event offers an opportunity for landowners to get educated about oil and gas development and wind energy projects.
“On most of these developments, you get one shot to negotiate a lot of things,” Coons said.
The event will feature speakers from the Department of Mineral Resources, the North Dakota Department of Health, the Public Service Commission, the North Dakota Petroleum Council, NextEra and Basin Electric. Other speakers include attorneys and a state legislator.
Companies and agencies also plan to have informational booths with people available to answer landowners' questions.
The event is open to the public. Non-members are asked to pay $10 for lunch.
