MOORHEAD — A drainage conference held by the Red River Watershed Management Board is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 27, at the Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, 1080 28th Ave. S., Moorhead.

The target audience for the conference is public drainage authorities such as watershed districts and counties in the Red River Basin of Minnesota. Multiple updates related to drainage case law, regulatory issues, technical matters and procedural matters will be given. The conference includes speakers from law firms, local watershed districts, state agencies and the private sector.

“Drainage in the Red River Valley is essential, and Minnesota’s Drainage law can be a confusing subject," Dan Money, administrator for the Two Rivers Watershed District said in a press release. "This one-day conference will aid county commissioners, watershed district managers, viewers, drainage engineers and others to understand the laws, procedures and challenges of managing legal ditches.”

Mick Kjar, Farm director for 890-AM radio, will broadcast live from the event and interview speakers.
