VALLEY CITY, N.D. — A second Barnes County Jail inmate who was on work release in the past few days has walked away.

The sheriff's office reported on Tuesday, July 28, that Tyler Wayne Delmore was released at 10:15 a.m. Monday and was scheduled to return at 10 p.m. He never did.

As of late Tuesday afternoon, the 36-year-old Valley City resident had not been found, jail officials said.

Delmore has been booked into the jail since May 11, although he wasn't sentenced until July 13. Delmore has been convicted in two separate incidents. A long list of charges include two counts of failure to register as a sexual offender, bodily injury in a domestic violence case, two counts of meth possession, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of failure to halt, according to jail records.

Delmore's escape follows another that occurred last Friday night, July 24, when Dehl Eagle, 43, did not return to the jail as directed. The sheriff's office alerted the public Monday morning about Eagle, although later in the day it was reported that he was back in custody.
