WEST FARGO — Firefighters worked to extinguish flames at a West Fargo farmstead surrounded by a developed community, Thursday night, May 9.
The blaze at 3718 Second St. E. was first called in at 8:51 p.m. Neighbors said they started hearing sirens minutes later. Scanner traffic indicated a large storage shed or barn was on fire.
With no hydrants nearby, firefighters had to haul in 8,000 gallons of water to fight the fire, according to the West Fargo fire chief, who described the blaze as stubborn.
The farmstead is between 32nd and 40th Avenue near the Sheyenne River.
