Teen suffers serious injuries in Ellendale rollover crash

The driver was transported to Sanford Hospital in Aberdeen, S.D., with what the North Dakota Highway Patrol termed serious injuries.

ELLENDALE, N.D. — A 17-year-old male was hospitalized after suffering serious injuries in a rollover crash which took place four miles north of Ellendale, Saturday morning, May 1.

The driver of a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling southbound on 89th Ave. SE when he lost control on the gravel road and overcorrected.

The Suburban entered the north ditch and overcorrected, coming to rest in a field facing north.

The driver was transported to Sanford Hospital in Aberdeen, S.D. for his injuries.

In addition to the North Dakota Highway Patrol , the Dickey County Sheriff's Office, Ellendale Police Department, Oakes Ambulance and Ellendale Rural Fire responded to the crash, which is under investigation.

Ellendale is approximately 150 miles southwest of Fargo.
