Three charged in connection to Casselton break-in

CASSELTON, N.D. — Three people have been charged in connection to an early Tuesday morning, Aug. 18, break-in at storage units in Casselton.

Fargo residents Matthew Lewis Logan, 30, and Ryan Scott Wentz, 35, as well as Valley City, N.D., resident Allison Leigh Nelson, 20, appeared Wednesday, Aug. 19, in Cass County District Court on felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from a law enforcement response on Tuesday to the 700 block of Heartland Avenue South.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office alleged the three appeared to be breaking into units before fleeing. They eventually were caught and taken into custody, the agency said.

Both Wentz and Logan face a Class C felony of conspiracy to commit burglary and a Class A misdemeanor of conspiracy to commit criminal mischief. Logan also was charged with Class C felonies of possessing drug paraphernalia and possession of meth.

Nelson was charged with Class C felonies of accomplice to burglary, possession of controlled substance and a Class A misdemeanor of ingesting a controlled substance.
