FARGO — Main Avenue cracked at the Interstate 29 exits due to hot weather on Wednesday, June 9.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation said the hot weather caused the road to buckle, and the crack went across all lanes, but they were able to keep one lane open.

Crews are working to repair the area Wednesday evening and hope to have it fully reopened in a couple hours, according to the Department of Transportation.

Temperatures peaked at 94 degrees in Fargo Wednesday and were expected to hit 95 on Thursday.
