Two men arrested after high speed chase with objects thrown in Clay County

Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting said the chase started in Moorhead when the driver drove away from a traffic stop

MOORHEAD — Clay County deputies arrested two men who were inside a vehicle involved in a high speed chase south of the city early Wednesday, December 8.

According to Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting, the suspects threw objects from the SUV at the pursuing officers during the chase.

The chase started in the city of Moorhead when a police officer tried to stop the SUV for running a stop sign.

The driver then sped away and the chase reached speeds of approximately 100 miles per hour.

Empting said the chase came to a stop when the car ended up in a ditch near the 7000 block of Highway 75.

The two men inside the SUV have not yet been publicly identified but they were taken to the Clay County Jail Wednesday morning.

This is a developing story.
