FARGO — A bus driver and three high school students suffered non-life threatening injuries after a pickup truck collided with a school bus Wednesday morning, Jan. 2. The driver was taken to a local hospital.
The crash occurred at the intersection of 52nd Avenue and 25th Street South in Fargo around 10 a.m. when a pickup travelling north on 25th Street South had a flashing yellow left turn light and attempted to turn left onto 52nd Avenue. The pickup hit the school bus, which was travelling south on 25th Street South, according to a press release from the Fargo Police Department.
The bus, which was transporting students from Fargo South High School to Davies High School, had a green light and was passing through an intersection. The pickup was travelling too fast given the road conditions and was unable to stop as it made a left turn, police said.
The driver of the pickup was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way when turning left at an intersection — a $20 ticket, police said.

A WDAY reporter who was at the crash scene noticed that the front of the bus was crunched up, with black char visible on the hood and engine, and the pickup was in the middle of the intersection with its hood damaged as well. There was no visible evidence of fire damage on the inside of the bus.
