FARGO-- Firefighters knocked down flames on the second floor of an apartment building in the 2600 block of 15th St. S early Thursday, July 22.
The fire was the second call firefighters in Fargo responded to at an apartment complex in a 90 minute timespan.
The second call came from the Kaybee Apartments at 2650 15th St S. shortly after 3 a.m. on Thursday. People living inside the apartment building were evacuated.
People living in a neighboring apartment unit told WDAY-TV that the fire started due to inattentive cooking in a kitchen, but that was not confirmed by the Fargo Fire Department.
The fire at Kaybee Apartments was approximately two blocks away from a fire that destroyed a row of garages at the Waterstone Place Apartments on Oak Manor Ave S that burned earlier Thursday morning.
The two fires were not connected.
