UPDATED: Names released in fatal Clay County crash

GEORGETOWN, Minn. — The names of the two people killed in a collision between an SUV and F-150 truck in a rural Clay County highway Wednesday, Nov. 11 were released by the Minnesota Department of Safety.

Tamara Kay Green, 49, the driver of the 2002 Ford Expedition, and Nathan Lowell Thompson, 45, the driver of the Ford F-150, were pronounced dead at the scene according to the department of safety's accident report.

The two-vehicle crash occurred near Georgetown at 8:18 p.m. The Ford Expedition was traveling northbound on Highway 75 near 200th Avenue Northwest in Georgetown Township when the Ford F-150 was traveling southbound before it crossed into the northbound lane striking the Expedition.

Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow said a person was also injured in the crash. The accident report identified this person as Joann Sharbono Johnson, 74, the Ford Expedition's passenger. She was transported to Essentia Health hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.

Both Green and Sharbono were reported to have used their seatbelts while the accident report said Thompson wasn't wearing one.

Georgetown is about 20 miles north of Moorhead near the Red River.
