MOORHEAD — U.S. Representative Collin Peterson, of Minnesota, stopped by Clay County on Monday, Dec. 3, to discuss progress on the farm bill.
Peterson is the ranking member of the H ouse Ag Committee.
At the Moorhead Municipal Airport, he stated he's confident the bill will be on the House floor by next week.
He touted a bill which would benefit the struggling dairy industry and even showed support for hemp as a future crop.

He said hemp could mean big money as an alternative to other cash crops.
"I don't know a lot about it, but I had a guy in Colorado come in last week to explain how they plant it, harvest it," Representative Collin Peterson said.
Peterson calls the new proposed farm bill a "marginal improvement" over the current one and said many compromises were made as he helped draft it.
