We have come to the time of the year when the weather gets smaller. A shower or a thunderstorm that rains on Lisbon or Valley City is likely to miss Fargo. For that matter, it is not unusual for it to rain on the north side of Fargo and Moorhead but miss the south side altogether.
An approaching storm may strengthen or weaken just as suddenly.
So when you see a simplified picture forecast on your phone that indicated rain, it does not necessarily mean it will rain where you are or that it will rain all day. Many days that produce severe thunderstorms have beautiful weather up until just before the storm.
Because summer weather is small, it is important to keep yourself updated. Use a weather app with detailed, regularly updated information and be prepared to change your plans when dangerous weather threatens.
