Where do you get your weather forecast fix? An increasing number of Americans, younger Americans in particular, are relying on the default weather app on their smartphone device for their weather forecast information. Obviously, there is going to be some bias here, but you might be well served to consider your weather source. Most phone-based weather apps are supplying your device with geo-targeted current weather and forecasts generated entirely from a computer program. Even the current temperature is modeled; interpolated from actual thermometer readings nearby with forecast changes included.
As you travel from one place to another, your app's current temperature display and forecast will change to reflect your location at the moment. However, this information is only as good as the model. Computer weather forecasts are very good relative to a decade or two ago, but an experienced human forecaster is still better, most of the time.
