FARGO — If you've been out waiting for a bus, it's possible you can't actually get near the sign because of all the snow.
MATBUS said the city's responsible for cleaning up stops on city property and a private contractor will get the sheltered stops.
Homeowners are responsible for clearing regular stops that are on their property. This is a policy similar to the one for fire hydrants.
Transit manager Lori Van Beek says those who can't reach the stop because of the snow should head to the closest cleared area, and wave the bus driver down.
"When you're waiting on a corner you could just be crossing the street, (but the driver) needs to know that you need him to stop and pick you up," said transit manager Lori Van Beek.
Those frustrated with snowy bus stops can call MATBUS and they will come take care of removing the snow.
