FARGO — The rain has helped some area counties, including Cass, to drop fire danger down to a moderate risk, and loosening some of their fire restrictions, such as controlled fires.
But county leaders, like Emergency Manager Jim Prochniak, say that could change very quickly.
Prochniak says the rain has helped, but not enough, and people still need to be cautious when burning.
"We are still in a burn ban but today (April 7) if you want to out do something that's controlled, because we're in a moderate stage, it would be allowed. There would not be a penalty," says Prochniak.
