FARGO — The hot temperatures over the past few days have some local hardware stores struggling to keep stocked on cooling supplies.

Mac's Hardware workers said they're seeing good sales on items like air conditioners and fans, as they saw dozens fly out the door this past weekend.

Allan Defoe, the store manager for Home of Economy in Grand Forks, said the store is down to only two big A/C units, but has plenty of smaller ones in stock.

Burggraf's Ace Hardware in Fargo said they're stocked on A/C units and fans, but are limited on hoses and sprinklers after an influx in sales over the weekend.

According to David Gregor, the store manager at Burggraf's Ace Hardware in Fargo, his stock of fans and air conditioners is pretty steady. Tanner Robinson / WDAY

David Gregor, the store manager for Burggraf's Ace Hardware, said it'll be tough to restock all of the watering supplies, but he's doing his best to meet customer demand.

"It's not fun coming on a Monday and seeing empty shelves like this," he said. "I don't like it, because if it's on the shelf, people can't buy it."

Gregor is expecting a shipment of those supplies sometime this week.
