WEST FARGO — More than 1 million Girl Scout Cookies are set up like a fortress inside the West Fargo Amazon warehouse.

The mother lode was hauled in pallet by pallet on Tuesday, Feb. 7. Each pallet consists of around 5,000 cases of cookies and more than 61,000 packages of cookies, totaling well over 1 million cookies. Girl Scouts and their troop leaders will soon dish these out to 20 troops in the metro.

It is the first year they're storing the cookies with Amazon. Troop leaders said a delivery driver pitched the idea to the company after delivering cookies to their old storage facility in 2022.

"One of our girl scout staffers happened to just mention that we were looking for a warehouse space, and he came back and talked to the site manager who connected with her and then it all just kind of fell into place," said Andrea Magnusson, a service unit cookie manager.

In-person sales for Girl Scout Cookies start on Feb. 17.
