WEST FARGO — Steven Hay has accepted the position as assistant principal for Liberty Middle School.
Hay began his career in education in 2012 as a substitute teacher for West Fargo Public Schools. In 2013, he accepted a position with the district to teach middle school science, a position he held until 2019. Since 2019, he has been the dean of students at Liberty Middle School.
Hay holds a bachelor's degree in science education from Concordia College and a master’s degree in educational leadership from North Dakota State University.
“Mr. Hay has exceeded expectations in his role as our dean of students," said Dan Holder, incoming Liberty Middle School principal. "He has managed both building and district initiatives with fidelity and continuity, allowing for successful teaching and learning at Liberty Middle School. His involvement with student special programs and staff professional development have had a profound and positive impact on the Liberty Middle School community. His professional experiences and familiarity with Liberty Middle School are sure to be invaluable assets as he transitions into this new role.”
Hay will begin at Liberty Middle School on July 1, following Holder’s transition from assistant principal to principal.
