Red River Valley Fair 2022 kicks off Friday

Concerts, 4-H, carnival rides, all return to RRVF

WEST FARGO — The Red River Valley Fair is on track to be one of the biggest in years and could topple attendance records if the weather forecast remains clear and mild as predicted earlier this week.

The Red River Valley Fair will kick off Friday, July 8 and run through July 17 at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds in West Fargo.

The Midway will be open each day Monday through Thursday at 1 p.m. and at noon, Friday through Sunday. It is scheduled to close around midnight, but closing times of the midway are determined by the carnival operators, which will base closing time on crowd size and weather.

Rides include the Tilt-A-Whirl, Spider, Monkey Maze, Swing It, Supershot, Genesis and the giant wheel among others.

Each day there will be free entertainment at the Petro Serve USA Free Stage which will include:
Charity Bingo, the Miss Red River Valley Fair Pageant at 4 p.m., Saturday, July 9; the North Dakota Jigsaw Puzzle Championship on Sunday, July 10; a kid's rodeo, the Island Time Band; celebrity eating contest; a Veteran's Jazz Band performance; the Kringen Accordion Band; Abby Stugelmeyer; a strongman competition; and a Lego contest for kids and adults and Sunday, July 17.

Along with the rides, food options and other entertainment, the Cass County Farm Bureau Ag Education Center will be featuring 4-H students and other rural learning opportunities throughout the fair. The Red River Valley Fair’s Ag Education Center is hosted by the Cass County Farm Bureau and it allows families to learn about agriculture through an interactive and educational experience.

Gate admission prices include free admission from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, July 11 through Thursday July 14. Friday July 8 through Sunday July 17, admission is $12 for ages 12 and older and $6 for ages 6-11. Children ages 5 and under are free.

Special prices for admission will be offered each day including:
Monday, July 11 is Kids Day and Half Price Monday.
Gate admission is half off as is the daily ride wristbands.
Tuesday, July 12
Red River Valley Human Services Day and $2 Dollar Tuesday. Carnival Rides $2 per ride all day and gate admission is $2 per person.
Wednesday, July 13
Heros Day and $20 Day at the Fair. Admission and a daily ride pass is $20.
All military, law enforcement, EMS, fire rescue get into the fair for free with valid ID.
Thursday, July 14
Senior Day and Daily ride passes are buy one, get one free.
All attendees ages 65 and over get in for $6 with a valid ID.

Grandstand acts are always a large draw for the Red River Valley Fair and this year, Fair General Manager Cody Cashman expects the talents may draw some of the largest crowds ever as Tim McGraw is scheduled for Saturday, July 9. Gates will open for the McGraw show at 5 p.m.
