The summer library service is made possible by the Comprehensive Literacy State Development grant, which was first awarded to West Fargo Public Schools in 2019. The grant, totaling $4 million, is being distributed to the district over a five-year period and is intended to improve the literacy skills of disadvantaged children from birth through twelfth grade.

This is the fourth summer that West Fargo Public Schools has used grant funds to offer extended summer library services to students and families.
