West Fargo firefighters extinguish deck fire

A second-floor deck caught fire late Wednesday night, Sept. 28, which caused minimal smoke and fire damage, according to the West Fargo Fire Department.

WEST FARGO — Fire crews responded to an apartment building at 2915 Bluestem Drive late Wednesday night, Sept. 28, to put out part of a deck that was on fire.

According to the West Fargo Fire Department, the call came in at 10:42 p.m. Wednesday, and when they arrived, there was a small fire on the balcony of a second-floor apartment.

Firefighters were able to put it out within minutes of arriving, and contained it to the one balcony.

The apartment has minimal smoke and fire damage, and no one was hurt or displaced, according to Addie Stewart, a communication specialist with the City of West Fargo.

The cause is still being investigated, and a damage estimate was not immediately available.
