West Fargo officers travel to Bismarck to honor one of their own

BISMARCK — A West Fargo Police Department officer who died while on duty was honored at the state capital Thursday, May 12.

The Annual State Law Enforcement Memorial honors North Dakota's fallen police officers. This year, West Fargo police officer Adam Gustafson's name will be added to the peace officer memorial.

Gustafson died of a heart attack while on duty in May of last year .

A convoy of police cars filled with officers who served with Gustafson left the station to make the trip to Bismarck. It's a trip someone from the department makes nearly every year, although rarely in such numbers.

A private memorial for Gustafson will be held at the West Fargo Police Department on Wednesday, May 18.
