MOORHEAD — A Moorhead woman likely will face federal charges after being arrested on suspicion of robbing a bank in southeast North Dakota on Monday , authorities said

Tessa Ann Marie Jaksa, 43, was taken into custody Monday, July 19, by the Moorhead Police Department, according to a news release issued Tuesday by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office. She was wanted for the Monday morning robbery at the Lincoln State Bank in Wyndmere, which is about 25 miles west of Wahpeton.

Few details have been released about what happened during the robbery at Wyndmere’s lone bank. Richland County Sheriff Larry Leshovsky said two employees were in the bank when Jaksa allegedly brandished a weapon.

No customers were inside at the time, and no injuries were reported, he said.

Moorhead police received a tip that helped officers locate a vehicle that was suspected of being involved in the robbery before detaining Jaksa, the release said.

It’s unclear how much money Jaksa allegedly stole, but the funds were recovered, according to the release. The FBI is investigating the case.

Leshovsky said the FBI has asked him to divulge few details, including how much money was stolen.

She is being held at the Cass County Jail pending federal charges.
