Two Fargo elementary students will have their artwork appear in the 29th annual Xcel Energy Safety Calendar, a news release said.
Artwork submitted by Dakota Hoselton, a Lewis and Clark Elementary third-grader, and Katherine Aslesen, a Bennett Elementary fifth-grader, were chosen from nearly 2,000 entries. Kindergarten through sixth-grade students from eight states served by Xcel participated in the contest.
Hoselton's work has a theme of "Don't cut a branch by a power line" and will appear in the month of October. Aslesen's theme is "Birds can ... you can't. Stay away!" and will appear in October.
Hoselton and Aslesen will be honored at their schools today with their framed posters, $100 savings bonds and other prizes, the release said.
