ELLSWORTH, Wis. -- Two Minnesotans have died and a Wisconsin man was injured in a fiery head-on crash on Highway 63 in western Wisconsin.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department says the crash was reported shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday in Martell Township. Responding officers found the two vehicles fully engulfed.
The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram reports that an SUV driven by 22-year-old Scott M. Kull, of Red Wing, Minn., was attempting to turn onto County Highway Y when it pulled into the path of a truck driven by 25-year-old Trent B. Wentlandt, of Bay City, Wis.
Kull and 30-year-old Traci L. Nannette, 30, of Red Wing, a passenger in the truck, were fatally injured. Wentlandt was critically injured and taken to a Red Wing hospital.
Traffic had to be rerouted for five hours.
