GLADSTONE, N.D. - Two Gladstone residents were killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle sideswiping accident on Interstate 94 a half-mile west of the town, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The occupants of a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer, an 82-year-old man who was driving and a 65-year-old woman, were traveling west about 10 miles east of Dickinson when an 18-year-old woman in a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt began to pass them shortly after 8 a.m. The vehicles glanced each other and, upon impact, each vehicle entered the north ditch. The Blazer rolled multiple times before coming to a rest on its roof.

The driver and passenger of the Blazer died at the scene. The driver of the Cobalt was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Dickinson.

The Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash. Names of the victims will be released pending next of kin notification.
