CROOKSTON, Minn. - The Crookston Police Department has received three burglary reports over the past few days.

Officers responded to two reports of attempted burglary just before 11 p.m. Tuesday. One report was from the 1600 block of Widman Lane, and the other was in the 1600 block of North Front Street.

Police said the suspect in those reports was apparently a man who tried to enter both residences, but was unsuccessful. Officers then discovered the suspect appeared to be looking in several cars in the Widman Lane Apartments parking lots.

Officers then responded to a report of a burglary around 6:30 a.m. today in the 600 block of First Avenue Northeast. A resident reported someone kicked in the back door of the garage and went through one of the vehicles. The incident appeared to take place around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a press release.

The police department urged residents to lock doors and windows on homes and cars and to avoid leaving valuable items inside vehicles. Officers asked anyone who believes someone is actively attempting to enter their home to call 911 and to report any suspicious activity to the police department at (218) 281-3111.
