FARGO - Victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center include the following three from North Dakota:

  • Al Marchand, 44, a graduate of Shanley High School in Fargo, was a flight attendant on a United Airlines flight from Boston to Los Angeles that terrorists hijacked and flew into one of the twin towers. Marchand, who lived in Almagordo, N.M., had been a police officer for 21 years. He had a wife and an adult son.
  • Robert Rasmussen, 42, was a native of Hunter, N.D., and an engineering graduate from North Dakota State University. A regional sales manager for a company, Rasmussen was attending a business meeting in the World Trade Center when a plane crashed into the building. He lived in Hinsdale, Ill., and had a wife and three children.
  • Ann Nelson, 30, was a bond broker with the firm Cantor Fitzgerald on the 104th floor of the north tower of the World Trade Center. She was a native of Stanley, N.D., and a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.
