3 ND schools achieve National Blue Ribbon status

WASHINGTON - Three North Dakota schools are among 286 that are the 2013 National Blue Ribbon Schools, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced today.

WASHINGTON - Three North Dakota schools are among 286 that are the 2013 National Blue Ribbon Schools, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced today.

Wyndmere Elementary School, Edgeley Public School, and William S. Gussner Elementary in Jamestown will be among the schools recognized Nov. 18-19 in a ceremony in Washington.

All three earned the Exemplary High Performing designation for being among the state's highest-performing schools.

Schools receive National Blue Ribbon honors either through overall academic excellence, or by their progress in improving student academic achievement.

In all, 236 public and 50 private schools are among those being honored.
