WILLISTON, N.D. - A 400-barrel oil spill at a well site near Williston has been contained and recovered, according to the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division.

WILLISTON, N.D. - A 400-barrel oil spill at a well site near Williston has been contained and recovered, according to the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division.

Statoil Oil & Gas LP reported a failed valve at the M. Macklin 15-22 1H oil well about 1 mile north of the city, causing the oil to spill on Monday.

A state inspector is expected to visit the site Wednesday.
