59-year-old man dies in snowmobile crash

NELSON COUNTY, N.D. - One man is dead after his snowmobile crashed Sunday on Horseshoe Lake.

A 59-year-old man from Michigan, N.D., was driving his snowmobile westbound here around 5:40 p.m. when his snowmobile made contact with a slight grade adjacent to Nelson County Road 35.

The man cleared the county road and came to rest on the west side of the lake.

He sustained injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at Nelson County Hospital in McVille.

Road conditions were dry and normal, and weather conditions were clear, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The crash is under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
