Authorities say a 9-year-old boy was killed in an ATV accident Friday afternoon in central Minnesota's Hubbard County.

Sheriff Frank Homer said first responders were called to the accident on a logging trail about 100 yards east of Hubbard County Road 29 about 3 p.m.

Homer said that two brothers, ages 12 and 9, were riding a four-wheeler when the older brother lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll. The older boy was ejected off the ATV and the younger boy pinned underneath.

Both boys are from Greenbush, Minn.

The 12-year-old suffered no significant injuries; the 9-year-old passenger was transported to a hospital in Bemidji, where he was pronounced dead.
