FARGO-The Fargo-Moorhead American Association of University Women will host its March meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, March 13, at the Biltmore Hotel, 3800 Main Ave.

Speaker Ruth Anna Buffalo will present, "Personal Accomplishments as a Female and Ethnic Minority." She is a recent statewide candidate for North Dakota insurance commissioner and a member of the Mandan Hidatsa Arikara Nation.

She is a descendant of the Chiricahua Apache Tribe, and was born and raised in Mandaree, N.D., on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. She is a member of the "Dripping Earth Clan," from the matrilineal Hidatsa clanship system. She carries her late grandmother Ruth Bolman's Hidatsa name, Mia Eh'Desh, meaning Woman Appears.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
