Abby Carlsen, one of the formerly conjoined twins from Fargo, was woken up this morning for the first time since separation surgery on Friday, said her father, Jesse Carlsen.
The care team plans to wake up her sister, Belle, later today.
The girls remain in intensive care at Mayo Eugenio Litta Children's
Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Their vital signs have improved throughout the weekend and they are being closely monitored by their care team. The twins were connected from mid-chest to naval and shared several organs.
