Fargo-Moorhead Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous will host an Alcoholics Anonymous Symposium May 5-6 at the Fargodome, 1800 N. University Drive.
The goal of the two-day event is to better inform the public about what Alcoholics Anonymous is, what it is not, and how the organization can help individuals with a desire to stop drinking.
The symposium begins with a session from 1 to 4 p.m. May 5 geared towards professionals who may work with alcoholics or come into contact with alcoholics. Presenters and attendees will discuss ways to work together.
The workshops planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 6th are exclusively for AA members and those with a desire to quit drinking. These events will focus on how members can be of service.
At 7 p.m. both evenings, open speaker meetings are planned where members of AA will share their experience, strength and hope with those in attendance. These meetings are open to the public.
Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.
