Fargo firefighters responded to an apartment fire Wednesday night likely caused by a lightning strike.

Fire crews arrived at the building, 4227 9th Ave. S., shortly after 8:30 p.m. and extinguished the fire within minutes.

The lightning strike blew a

2-foot hole in the apartment building's roof, causing the fire, said Assistant Chief Larry Schuh. The fire was contained to the roof and did not damage any apartment units, he said.

No residents or rescue crews were injured in the fire, Schuh said.
