Five area agriculture ventures have received funding assistance from the North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission.
Brookins Hybrid Drive System, West Fargo, was awarded $26,100 for prototype testing of a hybrid air/hydraulic drive system to be used on farm or grain trucks, tractors, combines and over-the-road trucks.
The Northern Food Grade Soybean Assoc., Fargo, was awarded $10,000 to bring 10 Asian soybean buyers to North Dakota to learn more about the state's agriculture industry.
GIANTS Snacks LLC, Wahpeton, received $60,000 to expand marketing of sunflower seeds into 40 states and promote the "Identity Preserve" program.
Red Trail Vineyard, Buffalo, was awarded $10,500 for a nature-based agri-tourism grant to sponsor tours of a working North Dakota vineyard. Red Rail Vineyard will also sponsor the 2nd Annual North Dakota Wine and Grape Harvest Festival and Grape Stomp in Buffalo on Aug. 25-26.

Renewable Commodities, Kindred, received $41,000 to conduct a feasibility study for a 21 million bushel, 30 million gallon soybean crushing facility and refinery.
