Spc. Shiloh Becher of Mapleton, N.D., won the Army Reserve's 2009 "Best Warrior" contest, receiving the award in a banquet on Friday night.
Becher was one of 28 soldiers who competed in an intense four-day mental and physical competition in Fort McCoy, Wis., this week to vie for the title.
An electrician in the 461st Engineer Company of Fargo, and a carpenter for the Fargo Park District, Becher now moves on to compete for the overall Army title of soldier of the year in a contest in Fort Lee, Va., in late September and early October.
