Cory Lehman has been named to the position of assistant principal at South High School. He is currently the assistant principal and activities coordinator at South. Lehman will replace outgoing Assistant Principal Dr. Michael Nygaard, who recently resigned.

Lehman is an alumnus of Minnesota State University-Moorhead. He began his education career in 1988 as an elementary physical education and science teacher with the Fargo Public Schools. During his 16-year tenure as an instructor, Lehman also served as the sixth grade boys basketball coach at Lincoln Elementary, the assistant football coach at South High, and the head coach for girls track, also at South. In 2004, Lehman accepted the position of dean of students/activities at South High School, prior to becoming the assistant principal and activities coordinator in 2011.

Lehman holds a master's degree in Advanced Professional Education, K - 12 Level from North Dakota State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education K - 12 from Minnesota State University-Moorhead. He is also an alumnus of South High School.

Michael Beaton, Jr.Michael Beaton, Jr. has been named to the position of assistant principal and activities coordinator at South High School. He is currently the assistant principal at Discovery Middle School. Beaton will replace current South High Assistant Principal/Activities Coordinator Cory Lehman, who is changing administration positions at South High.

Beaton is an alumnus of Bemidji State University. He began his education career in 1996 as a mathematics instructor at Ben Franklin Junior High School, teaching ninth grade math. While at Ben Franklin, Beaton was an advisor for the student council and Fargo Education Association building representative for two years. In addition, he was an assistant varsity hockey coach at North High School for seven years and a teacher mentor with the Fargo Public Schools Mentor Program for two years. In 2003, Beaton took the position of assistant principal at Discovery Middle School.

Beaton holds a master's degree in Educational Administration from North Dakota State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Secondary Education from Bemidji State. He is also an alumnus of South High School.

Amy HerrickAmy Herrick has been named to the position of interim assistant principal at Discovery Middle School. She is currently a visual arts instructor at Discovery. Herrick will replace current Assistant Principal Michael Beaton, who will become the assistant principal and activities coordinator at South High School.

Herrick is an alumnus of Minnesota State University-Moorhead. She began her education career in 2002 as a visual arts instructor with the Fargo Public Schools. During her 12-year tenure as an instructor, Herrick has also served as the art club advisor at South High and Discovery, Discovery international fun club advisor, Discovery summer school site administrator and girls track coach for three years, and as a mentor in the student teacher and practicum student program. At the District level, she has served on the Visual Arts Study Committee, School Improvement Monitoring Committee, and the Quality Assurance Review Team.

Herrick holds a master's degree in Education Administration, K - 12 Level and a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education K - 12 from Minnesota State University-Moorhead.
