Fargo police are investigating the armed robbery early Tuesday morning of a downtown convenience store.
Police Sgt. Greg Lemke said a man entered the Holiday Station store, 101 N. University Drive, at 3:08 a.m. and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk did not give him any money at first, but he drew a 4- to 6-inch steak knife and poked her in the left chest, causing a superficial wound.
The clerk opened the cash drawer and the man took about $70 before leaving, police Lt. Tod Dahle said.
Dahle said the man apparently poked the clerk with the knife to get her attention, rather than to injure her, so the wound was not severe.
Police described the suspect as 5 feet, 2 inches to 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a dark cap and had a scarf covering his face.
