The Lake Region Arts Council invites all regional poets and writers to participate in its first Haiku Contest.

Participants need to submit up to three poems on the theme of "Winter." These unrhymed Japanese poems consist of 17 syllables and usually three lines. Each haiku must contain a "kigo," or a word that indicates what season the poem is set in.
