Moorhead police are looking for information about an assault reported Friday night near Country Club Parkway and 11th Street North.

Police received a call about 7:30 p.m. about an unknown disturbance in the area.

A 24-year-old male was taken to MeritCare Hospital by ambulance after being assaulted by another male, police said. The extent of his injuries was unknown.

Sgt. Mike Detloff said it appears the two men knew each other and the assault was not random.

Police were trying to interview the victim and other witnesses Friday night. The name of the victim was not immediately available because police were still trying to identify him.
