Baggie of baking soda puts Fargo airport on alert

FARGO - A baggie of white powder found in an unattended bag at Fargo's Hector International Airport this morning turned out to be baking soda, Fargo Police Sgt. Mark Lykken said.

FARGO - A baggie of white powder found in an unattended bag at Fargo's Hector International Airport this morning turned out to be baking soda, Fargo Police Sgt. Mark Lykken said.

Police were called at 12:11 a.m. about a suspicious bag found between two baggage carousels.

Airport security found the powder-filled baggie while looking through the bag to determine its owner, Lykken said.

The owner told security he uses the baking soda to brush his teeth, Lykken said, adding no crime was committed and no arrests were made.
