MAHNOMEN, Minn. - A 29-year-old Bagley, Minn., man was stabbed near here Wednesday night and a 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, authorities said.
The Mahnomen County sheriff's office responded to a report of a fight in progress at the Riverland Apartments near Mahnomen at 11:48 p.m., a news release said. At the same time, another 911 call reported a stabbing and said the victim was being taken to the Mahnomen Health Center.
Upon arrival, authorities determined a stabbing occurred at the apartment complex. The victim, Daniel Paul Loftus, was treated for a stab wound at the health center and was transferred to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.
Loftus was listed in guarded condition Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Authorities arrested David Michael Hare, also of Bagley. Charges are pending with the Mahnomen County Attorney's Office, the release said.
