FARGO - A judge here set bail at $250,000 cash or bond this morning for an 18-year-old man charged with raping a woman early Monday morning.
Jesus Pounce-Reyes has been charged with Class AA felony gross sexual imposition, which is punishable by a minimum of 20 years in prison and up to life without parole.
While in custody, he appeared in Cass County District Court briefly this morning and told East Central Judicial District Court Steven Marquart he has family in the area and is employed.
Speaking through an interpreter, Pounce-Reyes asked for and was granted a public defender. His next court appearance is set for Oct. 30.
Pounce-Reyes was arrested after a woman reported being sexually assaulted by two men at a West Fargo motel. Authorities are still trying to identify the second suspect.
