GRAND FORKS - A Bemidji, Minn., man is dead after being hit by a car early Saturday.
Tyler Cummings, 21, died after he was struck by a vehicle driven by Samantha Pender, 19, of Bemidji, according to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office.
Reconstruction of the accident indicated that Cummings was lying in the roadway when Pender hit him about 3 a.m. near Balsam Road on Irvine Avenue Northwest, approximately 1 mile north of Bemidji.
Authorities pronounced Cummings dead at the scene.
Bemidji Police Department, Bemidji Fire Department and Bemidji Ambulance Service personnel also responded to the scene.

The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff's office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
